Maxi-Lift releases new mission statement

Maxi‐Lift recently announced that its management team has approved a new mission statement for the company. Maxi‐Lift’s ongoing mission is to “Create Innovative Plastic Solutions with Empowered People.”

Maxi‐Lift affirms its forty year commitment to solving customer problems by offering plastic alternatives to wood, paper, wire, and metal. “By working closely with our customers, we help them work more efficiently, more reliably, and with greater throughput than ever before, by using innovative plastic products like our elevator buckets, supplement tubs, flooring systems, and pallets. These plastic products give our customers longer life, and better long‐term value,“ says Paul Phillips, President of Maxi‐Lift, Inc.

Cold snap helps wake up wheat and corn prices

Wheat prices are surging as temperatures plunge in the U.S. Plains states and after a government report showed domestic supplies slipped. The price of wheat for December delivery climbed 11 cents, or 2 percent, to $5.54, taking its gains to 7.6 percent. If the crop holds its current level it will be the biggest weekly price surge since March.

Economist: Grain storage issues? Not as bad as earlier feared

The large size of fall-harvested crops in the U.S. has raised very real concerns about the ability to readily store the record supply of crops available this year. Supplies that exceed permanent storage capacity require the use of temporary storage facilities or may require delayed harvest in some circumstances. However, weather-related harvest delays to date and a rapid rate of consumption mean that overall storage issues may be less severe than feared this year.
