Maxi-Lift is proud to support the efforts of the North Texas Food Bank

Maxi-Lift Inc. is proud to partner with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) in their Neighbors Helping Neighbors Virtual Food Drive efforts. During the current economic climate, the NTFB is seeing increased demand across their service area that covers 13 counties in North Texas. As businesses remain closed the need only grows, but the NTFB and their local feeding network are there to help and Maxi-Lift has joined the team by contributing enough money to provide 15,000 meals to our neighbors in North Texas. Read more about this HERE.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVE?

Virtual food drives take in monetary donations instead of physical donations of perishable items. The current environments makes a virtual food drive a necessity, but it is also a more efficient way to help our local food banks, and here’s why:

Donated Dollars = More Meals

Food banks don’t pay retail prices like we do, so when they buy food with the cash you’ve donated through a virtual food drive, they can buy more of it than you can. This means more on the tables of our neighbors in need.

Reducing Waste

Over 72 billion pounds of perfectly good food doesn’t make it to the grocery stores and ends up in a landfill. Virtual food dollars allow food banks to work with farmers to get those items on our neighbors’ plates instead.

Build Healthier Communities

Fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy and proteins cannot be directly donated through a traditional food drive, but virtual food drive dollars can ensure that our local food pantries are stocked with these healthy options to complement the perishable foods typically available.

Capacity Management

Our neighbors needs are great right now, but not all food banks have the capacity to store enough perishable items at any given moment. Virtual food drive dollars allow food banks to manage their inventory and purchasing based on their local needs and shelf space.
